Kalkaska Area Model Pilots Society (KAMPS) was chartered with Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) on March 1st, 1984 with Charter #986.  We are a registered 501-c-3 tax exempt club.  The first officers were President: Gerald Beebe, Vice-President: Ted Turanski, Secretary: Carol Kula, Treasurer: Robert Kula.  Our watered grass flying field is located at the corner of Seeley Rd. and Beebe Rd., approximately 2 miles north of Kalkaska, MI.  Our club also has an agreement with the Village of Kalkaska to fly at their paved airport just SW of Kalkaska.  We have monthly meetings on the second Sunday of every month at 5:00 PM.

The purpose of our club is to enjoy our hobby of remote control flying and to promote the hobby to the local community and give back to that community with service and financial assistance to local charities.

We take pride in the fellowship amongst our members and welcome new members no matter what their skill level is.  We enjoy helping the individual who has never flown RC before and teach them to fly safely and improve their skill level to have fun flying.

Don’t hesitate to contact us, we all started out at the same level, “beginner”.
